The Paradise By Marriott resort collection throughout the Caribbean and Mexico is sending nine bloggers on a virtual press trip - and a real adventure. On August 21st, nine top U.S. and Canada based travel bloggers will board flights in their home towns and fly to one of seven tropical destinations to blog, tweet and update their status’s live from Marriott’s version of paradise.

Miami’s got the Spice; Red brings the Sizzle.

Mom Bloggers in Puerto Rico

In Flight Tweet Ups

The phenomenon of tweet ups has peaked and everyone is either hosting or attending them - whether planned in advance or impromptu - most in the Twitter world have heard of, if not been to, a tweet up.  I’ve seen tweet-ups at hotels, bars, restaurants, parks, ball games and bathrooms (ok, maybe not bathrooms, but bars are definitely the most popular).  Diamond PR is even hosting a “Taco Truck Tweet Up” at the end of TBEX (follow us for details on the location).  But I’ve still yet to see an “In-Flight Tweet Up” with fellow travelers while 30,000 feet up… until now? Thank you Toronto…

I’m sitting on the plane on the way home from Toronto basking in the glory of two successful media events.  I went to Canada with executives from the San Juan Marriott with the goal of putting the resort on the radar screen of the media and writers in the Toronto area, as well as to just meet these journalists in person - as it’s always nice to have that personal introduction vs. just emails and phone calls.
